Carbondale’s Annual Lights Fantastic Parade, the largest lighted parade in Illinois, takes place this Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. Downtown parking will start closing at 3 p.m. and detours around the downtown area will go up at 5 p.m. Downtown will also host a cookie walk, with several local businesses, including us, serving cookies from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. We will actually have cookies and hot cider all day, as well as 25% off all action figures. We still have some of our Christmas Gift envelopes. Buy $30 or more and receive an envelope. Bring the envelope back tomorrow, Dec. 6, open it in front of a staff member and receive the item listed inside.
The annual Lights Fantastic parade starts at 6 p.m. with road closures starting about 3:30. Expect traffic disrupted until about 9 p.m.
